McMurrich JPS: Tissue Paper Hot Air Balloons

Our Grade 6 classes were presented with the opportunity to learn about the properties of air and principles of flight through a brief history and construction of hot air balloons. While working in partners, students were posed with the challenge to build a tissue paper hot air balloon. At the end of the day, each partnership launched their balloons in the gym with a small audience from the primary division.

With the support from Media Services and a pilot project with Atomic Learning, students will be using new software applications to share their learning with Audacity, Photo Story and Movie Maker. Please visit this blog regularly as it will be updated over the next few days.

To reach and/or book your own session for a workshop hosted by Klaus and Sigrid Richter, they can be reached at klaus-sigrid@sympatico.ca.

A special thanks to Klaus and Sigrid Richter for joining us and providing a full day of insight and hands on learning. Also, a extended thanks to the Parent Council for their support in providing funds for this enrichment opportunity. I am sure you will all be quite proud of the learning that went on during that day and since, throughout this blog. Enjoy :o)
